Why do you charge extra for pets in the home?

I asked this question in a recent post someone else posted, but I only got one response. I am genuinely asking because I have spent a few days trying to come up with a legit reason as to why some cleaners on here charge extra for pets in the home?

I am a cleaner, hourly rate, I charge the moment I start getting my things out of my park, until the moment I put everything back in. I say this because maybe I understand a tad more if you are a flat rate cleaner, to charge extra.

So for those that charge per pet or pets in general, why? How is cleaning up pet hair any different than cleaning up human hair? Or cleaning up drool vs a spill from the kids? Or vacuuming up a couch full of dirt and crumbs and human hair vs that plus pet hair? Do you charge extra per human baby, with all the mess they make? because cleaning a high chair is hard! Or charge extra if someone new moves in with the client?

I’d love to understand this better.

Do you work on Memorial Day?

Just curious if you work on Memorial Day? Do you charge a holiday fee? I’m never sure what to do for holidays like these (where I could easily work, it’s not like it’s Christmas).

EDIT: thanks everyone for your input!! I’ll continue working less popular holidays
