LQA for buying house in Germany
I’m a DA civilian (GG-12) who will be moving to Wiesbaden soon and will qualify for LQA.
I’m considering buying a house instead of renting and had a few questions:
- Can LQA be used toward a mortgage payment? I read somewhere that it can cover up to about 10% of the home’s purchase price per year. Is that accurate?
- For those who have bought a house in the Wiesbaden/Kaiserslautern/Ramstein area while receiving LQA, what was your experience?
• How much down payment did the bank require to approve the loan?
• Any tips or things to watch out for when using LQA for a mortgage?
Any advice or real experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
