Hi all

Doctor is concerned I’m pre diabetic. Last bloods were 6.3mmol fasted in morning.

Since then if been testing at home and up to 7mmol first thing but in afternoon as long as few hours after food I’m 4.5 to 5.5

Is it normal to get higher levels in morning ?

My doctor wants me to do bloods again and just specifies fasted - if I fasted from 7am and did bloods at 3pm I know for fact it would be well in range.

But if I do first thing in morning it says I’m pre diabetic?

Am I missing something ?

Is it normal for first waking sugars to be higher ?
