Thoughts on these 11 stops for a home-made Baton Rouge Audio Walking Tour?
I'm working on a community-focused audio tour project in the city. The goal is to capture the "fabric of what was and what can be"
I've narrowed the tour down to 11 locations covering Baton Rouge's deep riverfront, political, and cultural history.
I wanted to see if I've missed anything essential or if you think any of these aren't worth the stop.
Here is the current plan, it's not all in geographic walking order yet:
- LSU Campus Mounds / Magnolia Mound (both of these mounds stops might be too far to walk to from the rest of the tour)
- USS Kidd
- The Casino
- Old State Capitol
- Galvez Plaza
- Mississippi River Park (to talk about the levees)
- Old Governor's Mansion
- Spanish Town: Spanish Town Historic District, Spanish Town Road
- Pentagon Barracks
- Old Arsenal: Old Arsenal Museum, State Capitol grounds
- New State Capitol / Complex
Is there anything major I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance for the help!
