My wife applied for an E-3 visa through consular processing back in February from one of the countries affected by the current visa pause/restrictions. Her case has been stuck in administrative processing since then, and the embassy hasn’t requested any additional documents, it’s just because of the pause.

I’m already in the U.S. on a valid H-1B visa, and since we have no idea how long the pause or administrative processing will last, we’re trying to figure out whether there’s another option.

Would she be able to apply for an H-4 visa instead and come to the U.S. while the E-3 case is still pending in administrative processing?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.
