PLME Brown chances???
Hey guys, I'm a sophomore in high school, thinking of applying to Brown PLME as an international student. Here are my stats and ecs:
- GPA has been a 4.0 since 7th grade up until now
- Self-studying for AP bio and psych (in my country APs are basically non-existent).
- Co-founder of our school's newspaper. My role there is journalist and literary editor, while I am probably going to manage social media too next year. All of our earnings go to cancer organizations and such. Possibly next year, I am going to help the middle school I attended with its own magazine, in the editing process.
- Very interested in creative writing and literature: Accepted to Sewanne Young Writers' Conference/ 2nd place in national writing competition/ 3rd place in national poetry competition/ Prize in national script competition/ Earning volunteering hours by writing book reviews/ Writing club member for three years now/ Currently writing a historical fiction based on my grandfather's immigration story, along with other writing projects such as a poetry collection and a novel.
- Clinical Experience: Shadowing a surgeon in the OR (have and will shadow one for a month this summer)/ possibly volunteering at a hospital (not really doable in my country do to age restrictions)/ planning to get CPR certified.
- STEM subjects: A's on all my science classes/ won a scholarship for a summer program for writing a research essay in biology/ have worked on a biology research project which included experiments and was presented at a festival.
- Others: Taking care of my grandma with dementia (she used to be at a rehabillitation center and I would visit her, feed her and keep her company, now I visit her at home and again feed her or keep her company)/ General volunteering hours for example beach cleaning, athletic tournament etc. (also member of a volunteering club).
- Languages: C2 in English (with certificate), C2 in Greek, B1 in French and self-studying Korean.
- Work Experience: Waitress during the summer to financially support myself and my family.
So that's all. Any tips on how I can "increase" my chances or build a stronger profile? I feel like I'm not doing enough. Do I like, stand a chance?
