Why does she always want to be upright?

This is Olive. Olive is a lil strange. For as long as I can remember (she’s 4 years old) she’s always preferred sitting upright on the sofa to be pet. She loves human attention and adores cuddles and she’ll often very slowly lean forward until her face is basically touching my face (I’ve sort of trained her to love muzzle kisses), but when I start petting her she’ll sit bolt upright and even slightly lean away. Sometimes when I’ve come home from work, I’ve even seen her sitting up on the sofa with her head resting on the back, facing the wall. What’s up with that? The only times she’ll lie on me is when I’ve been petting her for so long that she literally just conks out. We’re talking half an hour plus. I love her very very much but she is an odd duckling.

Made a few mess ups with the shadows and it was very scary adding the darker layer but I’m mostly happy with the effect. This was also my first time using masking fluid, and I think it worked well although still plenty of room for improvement
