Hosting a Bali Villa in Canggu Looked Like a Dream… Until I Actually Became a Host

Everyone talks about the “passive income” side of owning a villa in Bali, but nobody really talks about the reality behind it. I own a villa in Canggu, and while I genuinely love hosting people from around the world, some days it feels like running a luxury hotel, customer service center, construction company, marketing agency, and therapist… all at once. 😂

One guest leaves a beautiful 5-star review saying it was the best stay of their life. The next guest complains because Bali had traffic or because there was “nature sounds” at night.

Is it just me or are cancellations happening way more lately?

Between last-minute trip cancellations, people backing out of plans, Airbnb bookings suddenly changing, concerts getting postponed, and even brands/events getting ‘canceled’ online… it feels like nobody commits to anything anymore.
