NWSL team brand/logo/kit?
I guess I'm still buzzing from the positive energy at yesterday's NWSL community event. So with a little help from our AI overlords, I crafted the following possible brand for our currently nameless team.
A few thoughts:
"Heart of Ohio" - A play on the "Heart of it all" state branding and the "Heart of US soccer" reputation that Columbus has in FIFA circles. The word construction is reminiscent of Scottish "Heart" teams. Beyond that, the idea of Columbus, the center and engine of the state, as the "Heart of Ohio" makes sense.
Colors: We would be dumb to abandon the bright yellow of the Crew, so it sticks. But rather than a black complement, I went with a 50% grey. And the red obviously is needed as an accent for the "heart" motif, and I slid the Ohio State scarlet in there. (Scarlet and grey, see what I did there?)
Logo: Simple, bold. Positive. Proud. Emphasizes Columbus' location. Mentions Columbus by name.
Jersies: I let the AI do the work there but really like the yellow/grey. The skyline on the away greys is especially cool. I like the red as the accent. I'd buy these kits. (And I threw the Nationwide logo in as I presume they're getting the logo placement.)
Anyway, I was pleased with how it turned out. Thoughts? Other ideas for branding?
