What’s going on with Lisa Taddeo and her publishers?

I have followed her for a long time and really enjoyed Animal and Three Women. We met at a few promo parties years ago and I thought she was so cool and smart. Looking at her ig posts these days, it seems like she is either struggling against a huge conspiracy or crashing out. Does anyone know which? Or if I’m missing something massive? I want to support her new works but also some of her posts are really bizarre.

(I originally asked this in the witchcraft sub but it was understandably removed for being too specific about my/others’ regional locations. I hope it’s ok to ask here! I’m v glad to find this group, I’m 35 and have been a witch for over 20 years, feeling old in some other spaces ☘️🍄)

Hey y’all

I am a very solo, very happily eclectic witch from Massachusetts. I lived near Salem for many years, so I always felt comfortable knowing that if I WANTED community or witch-society, I could go to a Hauswitch circle or local book talk or something. It became a routine to practice alone almost all of the time, and then do the occasional solstice party with my good friends.

Now I live in Mississippi. I honestly enjoy it here - my husband is Catholic and totally encourages me to do whatever occult activities I want. Even his Methodist parents are accepting. For the first time ever in my life, though, I’m missing the social aspect of witchcraft. I don’t want a coven (NOT a good team player in spiritual circumstances - I am 99% an introvert and 70% a skeptic), but I would love to attend some events focused on the local-ish history of magic, superstition, or folk beliefs. I guess I would consider myself a pagan, and like so many others I Was A Teenage Wiccan, but I do not require other practitioners to align totally with my beliefs if I associate with them. I just miss full moon meditations and the occasional gathering to hex fascists!

I have been to New Orleans a few times and had really wonderful experiences with the practitioners there, but only as an observer/supporter because I’m white as hell with zero creole heritage. I love hoodoo an learn as much as I can because that’s the predominant magical spirituality here, but I am extremely hesitant to insert myself into a community that would be happier without my presence.

If anyone in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or the Memphis area could give me some tips about where to go / what to ask/ who to talk to, I would be so very grateful. I’m not so into “spiritual healing” conferences or yoga/meditation (though I do meditate on my own and I know some people get a lot from those things). I really like low magic, folk remedies, history, and the grey-areas of enchantment.

Love to all, thanks for any help xx
