I'm coming in on the ferry next Monday. The arrival time on my confirmation says 4:30am. I'd like to set up an Uber to pick me up at 5 and take me somewhere to get breakfast in the Mendenhall Valley area. Are there any restaurants open that early besides McDonald's?
You may have seen my last post about the hole I have been digging for a few weeks, an hour a day. Since then, I was able to lock in for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday, got a bit of help from my oldest child, and got into a groove. Now, my step well to the End Portal is complete. I wanted to share some in game screenshots, pictures from our Bluemap server, and stats after completing the build (which I finished only about 10 minutes prior to posting this). I easily mined over 300k blocks to empty the hole and placed nearly 20k in polished deepslate bricks. My next step is to figure out what to do with all of the bricks I have stored in the chests off to the side of the bit in the Bluemap screenshots. Each of those double chests is essentially full.
Edit: The missing step has been placed along with a few others I noticed while giving the whole build a once over.
I am a dad with an hour or so a day to play between work, chores, and family, and this feels like it took forever because of that. I posted screenshots a few weeks back with only the first two layers mined out and some basic stairs based on the Chand Baori well in India. Now the stepped levels go all the way to the end portal, and I have started patterning out the stairs on one side. Once I am happy with how they look, I plan to copy the pattern on the other three sides. After that, I will activate the end portal.
In all, I have roughly 50 double chests of blocks of to the side at the top of the pit. It would probable make Scar's chest monsters look tame. I have started throwing out stone and cobble stone just because I have so much. I'm keeping other blocks. I'll likely use it all to build a large village around this pit.
My daughter has been trying out different trees on our server. She really wanted me to take a look at this one with the "swinging bench" in front of it. I think it looks pretty darn good for someone her age. Especially when a lot of her friends struggle to build something that isn't just a "box" for a base.

I saw what I am guessing is a camera on the BPA trail this morning. This is on the east side of the 1st Ave crossing. It wasn't there when my friend and I walked the BPA last weekend. I'm wondering what it is for. It doesn't look like the set up is permanent.
