Looking to start my ghost writing career
Hi. I’m a 24 year old writer who’s looking for clients to start my ghostwriting career.
- Pricing: $0.10/word
- Specialized Genres/Subgenres: Fantasy, Dystopian/Utopian, Cyberpunk, Romance, Comedy.
- Prohibited Genres/Subgenres: Horror, Non-fiction (Biographies may be considered), Historical Fiction, Children’s books, Poems
- Accepted Works: Novels (Series or Single), Novellas, Short Stories
- Limits/Prohibitions (May be updated at my discretion):
- Illegal content: Under absolutely no circumstance will I write illegal content for sexual pleasure.
- Sexually Explicit Content: I do NOT write erotic stories, nor will I ever. Sexual content may be implied because we’re (hopefully) all adults here, but I will not write explicit sexual details
- LGBTQ+: I am a christian. This is not something I’m comfortable writing, as it goes against my faith.
- Explicit Witchcraft: As I said before, I’m a christian. That means spells/incantations, talking to the dead, tarot cards, rituals, potions, etc, are prohibited. However, character powers (superpowers, fairies, etc) are considered, but may still be denied at my discretion.
- Extremely Vulgar Language: I’ve struggled to stop cursing. I don’t want to curse in my writing too. The only light “curse” word I may use—depending on the circumstances—is damn. I also don’t feel comfortable saying “what the he-double hockey sticks”
- Consultations:
- Initial Consultation: Before payments begin, there will be an initial consultation to go over your expectations for this project and what I should know before we begin. If you make a payment before our initial consultation, you will receive a refund. If I take on the project, you can make your payment again.
- Monthly Consultations: While We’ll primarily be communicating through either Reddit or email, I would also like to schedule monthly zoom consultations to make sure that I’m on track regarding writing the manuscript
- Payment Options:
- Milestones: Upfront Deposit [25%], 2nd Payment [25%], 3rd Payment [25%], Final Payment [25%]. Once a quarter is paid, I will send you 1/4 of the completed manuscript for your review
- By Chapter: 50% Upfront Deposit of Total Cost Per Chapter (This MUST be paid before I begin writing. This is applicable for all chapters). Example: Total Word Count for the Chapter: 3000 Words; Total Cost for the Entire Chapter: $300; You Pay 50% of $300: $150. Once a chapter is completed and fully paid for, I will send it to you for review. This is ONLY applicable for this payment option
- Lump Sum: It’s exactly as it sounds. You would pay the entire cost for my services upfront. Once I’m finished a quarter of the manuscript, I will send it to you for review.
- Additional Information:
- Payments: All payments are done through cash app: $Isoblurghostwriter. Please make sure to send a test $1 to make sure I’ve received it before sending me your full payment
- Revisions: You are allowed 5 free revisions per chapter. After all 5 revisions for a chapter have been used, you must pay $7 per additional revision for that specific chapter. I advise that you are as specific as possible so that you don’t use up all of your revisions.
- Outlines: If you are a writer, but you’re bad at planning, I charge $150 per outline. Typical timeline to receive your outline is 5-7 business days. If I create an outline that you’re not 100% satisfied with, I offer 5 free revisions before I begin charging $7 per revision.
- Your Job:
- Coming Up With the Outline/Idea: For the most part, it is your job to come up with a fully detailed outline or a buildable idea. However, if you’re unable to come up with an outline, I will include it in my services (this is completely separate if you’re just looking for an outline. Please see payment info above). All I ask is that you provide me with an idea that I can build off of.
- Providing Important Information: Before the consultation even begins, you need to provide me with some important information: Your name, age, target word count, target tone, genre(s), preferred tense, POV, completion deadline (by month is preferred; ex: 12 months), milestones (how much should be completed by when), previous work (if applicable), research material (if applicable; I will also do my own fact checking in addition to what you’re able to provide), your preferred payment plan, an outline (if available), and your overall story idea.
- Coming to Consultations: I require this. If you’re unable to make it to a scheduled consultation, please email me. This project will require open communication from the both of us.
- Formatting: Professional formatting isn’t a part of my job. While writing, the manuscript will be formatted in a way that best suits my writing needs. However, you must go back and either properly format your book yourself, or pay for professional formatting.
- Copyright: As my client, you will assume full ownership of the copyright and brand, as well as full authorship rights. I don’t want it. What that means is you are responsible for registering the copyright
- Editing: When the full manuscript is completed, I will do some light editing along with revisions, but it is your job to find an editor
- Cancellations: If you feel the need to cancel my services, please do so before I start writing. If you cancel after I’ve already begun writing your story, you are still responsible for what I’ve completed.
- NDA: I would like to keep my privacy. If it becomes clear that you’ve put any personal information of mine (as little as I may allow), I will take legal action and you will not get the finished product. Breaking this clause will effectively make this entire contract null and void.
- The Overall Process
- You will DM me your interest, as well as your email address after reading this post
- I will email you an example (1300+ words, pretty lightly edited) of what a story written by me may sound like.
- If you’re interested in moving forward, you will send me an email including information that I’ll need when writing your story (please see the section Providing Important Information above)
- I will review the email and determine if the project is a good fit
- If the project is a good fit, I will send a confirmation that I am accepting the project and you will send your first deposit.
- We’ll then move forward with our initial consultation to discuss the details of your story. Please note that if you do not have an outline available, we will need to schedule another consultation after I draft up an outline to go over the story’s structure. The reason why the consultation comes after the deposit is because the consultation constitutes as work, as it takes time out of my day. I do not work for free.
- After making sure I have the details all lined up, I will draft a contract (which may take 5-10 days, depending on the details of the contract)
- Once completed, I will sign the contract and then send it to you. If you have any questions about the contract, it is up to you to reach out to me so that we can schedule another meeting and go over the details of the contract (which is just the details we spoke about during our initial consultation). Please don’t sign a contract that you feel even a little bit confused about because all that will do is lead to confusion down the road. Open communication is required to work with me.
- Once we both sign the contract, I will begin working on your story.
- Throughout the length of this project, you will send me payments via cash app, and I will send you updates on where I am regarding your story.
- Once you’ve sent the last payment, I will send you the rest of your manuscript
- Once you’ve received your manuscript, we will go over any revisions that need to be done. While I will not be professionally editing your work, I will self edit while completing revisions.
