E-2 Visa Source of Funds: The Part Applicants Often Underestimate

One thing I’ve noticed while researching E-2 visas is that people often focus heavily on how much they are investing, but not enough on where the money came from.

For an E-2 application, it’s not simply about having $50K, $70K, or $100K available. You generally need to be able to document the lawful source and path of the funds.

Depending on the situation, this could involve:

* Salary savings

* Business income

* Sale of property or other assets

* Gifts

* Loans

* Investment proceeds

The documentation can vary widely from source to source. Bank statements alone may not always tell the full story, especially when funds have moved between multiple accounts or accumulated over time.

I’m curious to hear from people who have actually gone through the E-2 process:

What was the most difficult part of proving your source of funds?

And if you were approved, what type of documentation did you use?
