Update: 5 Months Post-Op — Deep Plane Face & Neck Lift at Ipche Plastic Surgery Clinic (S. Korea)

Wanted to do another update since a lot of people messaged me after my earlier posts asking how things healed over time.

These photos are pre-op vs about 5 months post-op.
Overall, I’m really happy with how things have progressed. The biggest difference for me has been the jawline and neck. Before surgery my lower face looked heavier, especially from the side, and now everything just looks cleaner and more defined without looking fake or overly tight.

What I like most is that I still look like myself. Nothing looks “done” in person. Most people either don’t notice at all or just say I look more rested or healthier, which honestly was exactly what I wanted from this surgery.

Healing definitely takes longer than I expected though. At 5 months I still have some numbness and a little tightness around parts of the face and neck, but it’s been slowly improving month by month. Some areas still feel slightly firm under the skin too, which my surgeon said is normal and part of the internal healing process.

Compared to the 1-month mark, things look way more natural now. The swelling has gone down a lot, especially in the lower face, and everything moves and feels softer. Some weeks during recovery I actually felt more swollen than others, so healing definitely wasn’t perfectly linear. Patience was honestly one of the hardest parts.

I also gained around 10 lbs during recovery, so I think the jawline would probably look even sharper if I leaned down a little again later on.

At this point, most of what I notice now has more to do with skin texture and grooming rather than the facelift itself. My surgeon recently cleared me to start laser hair removal around the ears and neck area to clean up some of the beard growth there and make the contour look cleaner overall.

I’m also planning to work on skin texture later on once I’m further healed, but structurally I’m very happy with the results so far.

Overall, my experience with Ipche has been really positive and I’m glad I decided to do it.

Happy to answer questions if it helps anyone else researching facelifts in Korea.
