how good is SIT, Shaggar Institute of Technology

i've applied to SIT but I don't know wether I should get in there or choose Adama Science and Tech Uni. Is the institute's "international" degree worth it?

Does anyone know if Nowak's 1922 monograph ever successfully resolved the contraction mapping proof in this 1911 Tarski/Maxi manuscript?

I have spent the few months working on a partial reconstruction of a manuscript from 1911 called "On the Maxi-Tarski Point of a Euclidean Triangle". This manuscript was written by Alfred Tarski. A geometer from Silesia named A. Maxi when Tarski was teaching seminars in Lwów.

The text is based on a copy held at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and a framework for translation into French from 1952 by H. Destouches.

I am having some trouble with Lemma 1.3 which's about the contraction mapping proof on the Banach manifold. The original manuscript does not include the proof and the notes by Destouches only mention a fixed-point argument on the space of Maxi-type metrics.

Apparently a mathematician named Nowak wrote an explanation of this in a book from 1922 using the Schauder fixed-point theorem in the space of Hölder-continuous metric tensors. However I have not been able to find a copy of Nowaks book anywhere.

I have a questions for the geometers or math historians:

  • Does anyone have access to Nowaks book from 1922. Know if his proof for the uniqueness of the metric tensor is correct?
  • The way the dimensions are analyzed in the Tarski curvature constraint, which's Equation 5 and the way the Maxi constant is normalized which is Equation 3 seems very unusual. Was this typical for papers about geometry from the Lwów-Warsaw school at that time or did Destouches make mistakes when he translated it in 1952?
  • Any information, about the history of the " leaf" boundary problem would be great. Benedettis Geometria Italiana thought it was not very important. The algebraic structure seems very interesting. The leaf boundary problem is what I am really trying to understand and I think the Maxi-Tarski Point of a Euclidean Triangle is a key part of it.

OpenAI president Greg Brockman was Trump's Super PAC's largest donor in their latest year-end report. He and his wife donated $25 million to MAGA Inc last year, and CEO Sam Altman donated $1M to Trump's 2025 Inaugural Fund. ICE uses OpenAI technology for recruitment. They're cozying up to the White House while ICE is killing Americans and the Department of Justice is threatening to take over elections.

Let's get as many people as possible to quit ChatGPT and cancel their subscriptions, delete the app, and pressure companies to switch to a more ethical chatbot competitors like Gemini, Claude, and open-source chatbots.

is it fair?!!

I just took a model exam a week ago and the results got posted today.

Context: Our education system gives us a model exam before the actual University Entrance Exam, and it’s graded out of 600. Usually, I'm just an above average student at my school. But what just happened completely broke my motivation.

We took the exam online using SEB in a massive hall, but the supervisors didn't give a damn about phone use. Almost everyone in our room just pulled out their phones, scanned the questions into gemini, or worked together. I wanted to do it honestly on my own and didn't want to risk cheating.

After the exam I thought my score wouldn't be that low. But when I saw the results today, I was completely shocked and don't even know what to do. I got a 556, but the cheaters all got around 565.75 or more (their marks literally have zero dispersion).

The worst part isn't even the score but they’re saying discouraging words and talking down to me. The actual main exam is just 11 days away, and right now I’m in a state of deep confusion. How do I clear my head and get past this?
