Unique find today

Did a little research on this and seems copies of this were given away as promotional items at Oldsmobile dealers to promote its 1927 line. Had no catalogue number because it was never sold to the public. There was a lot of talent involved I this one, including Bix Beiderbecke, Frankie Trumbauer, Tommy Dorsey, Joe Venuti, and Eddie Lang.

Some highlights from the past couple of months

Nightmare was an exciting find. It's the song that introduced me to swing music after I saw a neat YouTube video featuring it in 2009. The Red Nichols disc is a mammothine 12"er. Riviera one is an oodball company with practically no information available online. Music was sappy postwar stuff. I took pity on the Hoagy Carmichael disc( last one pictured). It was flaking badly. I applied several coats of black nail polish and it plays all the way through now! Hoping to find more badly damaged discs like it to experiment on.

Some finds over the weekend

First picture was from my usual flea market, second was from a half price books. No idea what its about, somw Yiddish theater thing. I just thought the title sounded funny. The rest I got at a record store in Austin. They had tons of 78s. Some were in rough shape and were just given to me! Lots of postwar country. The RD Hendon disc is of interest because the lead singer is Eddie Noack, known for his cult song "Psycho".

Some prewar finds at the Austin record show

The big bill one is probably the best find. Scarce on the Perfect label, and i've never seen it on Romeo. Sadly, there is a huge, wide crack which I am attempting to repair. Not even sure if the record works, but even if it doesn't its a nice find.
