Honeymooning in Chaweng, Koh Samui?

Fiancè and I were thinking of Koh Samui for 2 week honeymoon in April next year. I was initially thinking of staying at Amari in Chaweng, but have seen a few complaints here and there about belligerent tourists and noise in Chaweng. Has anyone stayed in Amari and found it vulnerable to the nearby nightlife? Would anyone recommend Lamai instead and just taxi over to chaweng when we want a night out? Are the quality of tourists really as bad as some people make it out to be?
I for one don’t mind nightlife, but with the density of tourists I’m starting to second guess and think Lamai might be more appropriate because my fiancé likes a more calm and laid back beach experience when we vacation. If anyone also has recommendations for resorts in Lamai I’d greatly appreciate that!
