Potential downsides to getting a UK passport as a US citizen?

I'm a US citizen who was born in the US in 1987 and whose mom was born in the UK in 1959. I posted here yesterday about getting my UK passport. Apparently, I've been a UK citizen my whole life.

Are there any potential downsides to me getting a UK passport? I'm thinking in terms of taxation, travel, etc?

I also hold an OCI -Overseas Citizenship of India - which, despite its name, is a form of permanent residency and NOT Indian citizenship. Would getting my UK passport cause problems with that at all?

To get my UK passport, should I talk to an immigration lawyer?

My mother was born in the UK in 1959, then moved with her family to India when she was 4. She lived there until the early 80s, which is when she got married and moved to the US. I was born in the US in 1987 and my brother was born in the US in 1994.

She never renounced her UK citizenship and has a UK passport that expired in May 1994.

Based on all of this and according to the UK government's official website, I've always been a UK citizen. At least, that's my interpretation.

I want to get my UK passport and letter confirming my UK citizenship. Should I go through this process with the help of an immigration lawyer? I reached out to Muldoon Britton, and they charge £1,250 per applicant, which seems like a lot. Would it be worth it, or should I just go through the process by myself?

Also, how long would the process of getting my passport and citizenship letter take?
