Be very careful when choosing your care provider

I am now about 11 months post op, and I suffer from permanent nerve damage. There is a constant static pain in my right foot that never goes away. Standing/walking for a few hours causes intensifying discomfort, and lifting heavy objects also causes issues. I have some wicked scars and my bunion has reverted to its original position. Last year when I was 20, I went in for a surgery as I’ve had hereditary bunions most of my life that have caused mild discomfort. The surgery was supposed to be a two hour procedure but ended up taking four and my doctor stated afterwords that my foot just “fell apart”. I’ve seen a few more doctors since then. My second one told me that my original doctor should have never have done the surgery in the first place, and I feel an idiot for allowing this to happen. My third and most recent doctor told me that my condition is permanent. There is nothing that can be done for the pain but to bury the nerve. This is mostly a vent post because I am not at all happy with this situation and was curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. Make sure you speak to multiple doctors before you decide to go through with surgery, don’t make the same mistake as me.
