Good Morning everyone, I am looking to start a journey in photography. I have been combing through post for a couple weeks. And I don't know where to start. As a beginner should I go with a DSLR or Mirrorless?

I am going to do sports pics/videos of my nephew and when not doing that I will be focusing on Landscape photos and wildlife. My budget for a camera is $1000-1500. There is more but saving that for lenses, batteries and storage.

Can someone please help me? I am overwhelmed with all these options
