I for the first time finished inheritance. I've been attached to these books since elementary school, but never read past Eldest (and remembered shockingly little about it)

I looked to a q&a from the author answering questions as book 4 released, and I found this snippet that says joed riding saphira went unmentioned.

But in my copy, joed does get to ride Saphira. Was it not included in the original?

I wonder what other tidbits were added in post release.

I don't read very often, so if this is a common practice among writers I would not know, although looking at George Lucas it makes sense.
