Hi everyone! I’m feeling a bit lost and could use some guidance. I want to improve my cursive handwriting overall, so I started looking into calligraphy, but it seems more like an art form (almost like drawing) rather than something that helps with everyday writing.

I have an old calligraphy book, Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy by Eleanor Winters, and I was wondering: can I use it with a regular pencil to improve my handwriting? Or are calligraphy books only useful if you’re practicing with nibs and ink and learning that specific style?

What I’m really looking for is kind of a middle ground—something prettier and more intentional than standard handwriting, but still practical for daily use (since I won’t always have a nib and ink on hand).

Sorry if this is a very beginner question! Thanks!
