Turned a mandrel for some a leaves that get a taper bored through, then go on the mandrel, cap affixed with 1/2-13 bolt, OD turned to size. Was drilling the tap hole @ 27/64, using cooland and standard feed for 12L14. Just one of those things, it popped off at depth (-2.2). Tried milling out with carbide 1/2 Hanita ball EM. Chewed the dogshiite out of that. May just have to make a new mandrel. It’s quick work. But I’d love to save it if I can. Any other thoughts? I know what I’ll do different next time. Thanks in advance.
