How did you handle a non-functioning AC Chair and an overarching CFO?

Hi everyone. I am currently employed in a company where our CFO meddles with everything we do - like we write our report and present our facts. I am used to CFOs making our lives hard, but not at this level.

The logical thing to do is escalate to our AC Chair. But lo and behold, he is worse. Haha. He insults my CAE 90% of the time, never asks about our independence status, never even asks how the projects are.

I am a Senior Manager and with the company for a few months. We’ve had our moments and Senior Management of the subsidiaries appreciate our work, but we cannot release our reports and cannot close our projects because of our CFO.

I have a CAE - she has been here for 3 years and she just accepted this set up and she’s living already. It’s a tough situation. I am demotivated. But finding ways to be productive. Have you encountered something like this? What did you do?

CISA or CRMA?

Hi, everyone. Just want to get your thoughts if I should pursue CISA or CRMA? I am currently a Section Head for IT Audit (but it’s really a hybrid ops/IT role). I am new in IT audit but I feel like I want to shift to 2LOD role down the road.

Would it be better to get CRMA now then CISA later on if I choose to continue in IT audit?

Apologies, given my role, this should have been a straightforward question. But I just need other inputs especially I have to shoulder the cost. Haha. Thank you so much everyone!
