Outland spousal PR – COPR before landing + work authorization questions. Similar experiences
Hey r/ImmigrationCanada,
My spouse (Indian citizen, currently working in the US) is expecting her COPR and passport stamp around October. I'm a Canadian PR and we applied outland.
She works for a Canadian company in the US, so an internal transfer is very much on the table once she gets her PR.
A few things I'm trying to wrap my head around:
- Can the COPR + passport stamp be used as valid proof of work authorization before she lands, or does she need to physically land first?
- If she gets a job offer before landing, can she provide the COPR and sort out the SIN after landing?
- Has anyone done an internal company transfer to Canada right after getting PR this way?
Just looking for real-world experiences - the official info is helpful but it's always good to hear from people who've actually been through it. Thanks!
