Vermont Harvest

Black Runtz; this one is a 7-footer. Beautiful day to be out, but it’s always a race to beat the first frost.

Compost Tea Recipe

I am an outdoor grower with healthy cannabis plants in week 7 of veg. I am growing organically, and want to do more with compost tea to feed my plants. I have a large and healthy compost heap made from grass clippings, shredded leaves, garden scrap, raw vegetable kitchen scraps, wood ash from the wood stove, and bedding from our chickens. I turn it with the tractor every couple of weeks and it is the primary soil component for my plants. I am making a 15-gallons batch with a compost in a muslin cloth bag suspended in the water. I use an aquarium pump with 2 bubbler stones to aerate the water. For amendments I add fish emulsion (N), seabird guano (P), and kelp meal (K). I add black strap molasses, organic CalMag, and worm castings.

What has been your experience with compost tea as the primary fertilizer when growing cannabis? What amendments have you used, why did you choose them, and how did they work?

I am looking to maximize the quality of my smoke with this method.
