Question for y’all:

1-10 how annoying is the fact that dark mode now becomes irrelevant when viewing albums and playlists?

I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to suddenly become blinded by a white screen in the night because someone sent me an album with white as the primary color.

Am I blowing this out of proportion? Or are others as irritated as I am?

IMO there should be an option to turn that feature on or off. Leave it on by default for anyone using light mode and off by default for anyone using dark mode.
