Well, They're not as tight as they should have been at all, fast paced in a way that makes many character actions/decisions feel very random and out of place sometimes and it makes the world looks much smaller and it literally made all Witches there even the wises look incompetent despite being set as very knowledgeable and fools compared to our main girls which was pretty bad and there is also the jarring comedy in very serious moments.
Also, many problems/incidents that looks like are gonna take sometime and be a clash between side characters that we set up take no time and are immediately resolved with a coco intervention, like the other characters barely have any effect or a role, they get into a conflict and it is immediately resolved by coco, reminds me of Ema from the promised neverland where the main character just bursts through every problem making every other character almost weightless(the wises and the knights moralis especially fell off of there set ups so hard), these were the main issues(there is other smaller notes). The late 70s(the exception is probably the utowin flashback which was good) and early 80s are the main low point to be more specific, the rest was better.
Don't get me wrong those chapters have good stuff when you look at the big picture / the macro summary of the events is pretty good and the end results too but the micro events inside are weak, it had a really good foundation with chapters 40 to 59 being peak but the execution lacked, just like chapters 30 to 39 there is a well thought string of events on paper just a loose execution of it, makes me wonder if some complaints that the mangaka received about the previous chapters being slow paced affected the writing for this arc's climaxes and pay offs.
Thank you for reading, Current score of a bundle of chapters:
(1 to 29)=10
(30 to 39)=7
(40 to 59)=10
(60 to 72)=8
(73 to 84)=7
