Right to bear arms restored, Still denied. A Puzzle

I am going to try and keep this short. During covid (2019 or 2020) I voluntary stayed at a mental hospital for 5 days. I was put into the Michigan LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) system. After 2 years I was removed from the Michigan LEIN system as ordered by a Judge.

I now live in Virginia. I have lived in Virginia for 4 years. My boss is a big 2nd amendment guy and enjoys going to the shooting range. He invites me all the time and I finally had to confess to him that I lost my right to bear arms in Michigan. He tells me he can help and we get a lawyer. My lawyer petitions the court where I live to restore my gun rights. After a hearing a judge grants the order restoring my right to bear arms.

I go to the local gun shop and start applying for a firearm. I tell them about my unique position and how I just had my right to bear arms restored. They call state police to see how they should handle this. State police says its no biggie just attach his order restoring his right to bear arms to his paperwork.

Denied.

local gun shop tells me to call state police and see what is wrong. State police tell me it's Michigan who is denying me. I call Michigan state police and they said they closed everything out and removed me from LEIN. So I call the main LEIN line for Michigan and get transferred to the Mental Health department for LEIN. Associate informs me that Michigan does not currently have a system in place to restore gun rights that were revoked due to mental health. Associate informs me that I can apply for a Voluntary Appeal Form through the FBI. I applied for the VAF

That is where I am at currently. I am anticipating being denied but really hoping for the best. I tried to find posts of people in my position but I didn't see much. Hopefully this post isn't against the rules.

TLDR; Lost right to bear arms in Michigan due to a voluntary 5 day stay at hospital. Michigan does not have a system in place to restore gun rights for mental health. Fast forward 7 years. I have lived in VA for 4 years and VA does have a system in place to restore my right to bear arms. Sadly that does not stop a NICS denial

I just wanted to share my experience with people who would find it interesting. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you all a great day. PS if I get approved I am going to purchase the Beretta Px4 Storm Compact.
