Hydra discourse
Hydra has now won a championship with 10 different players.
That’s one behind Simp and one ahead of Shotzzy, despite playing two fewer seasons than Simp and about one and a half fewer than Shotzzy.
This is significant because, for the entire first half of the season, the discourse on this sub was:
“Shotzzy and Simp make things easier for their teammates, but everyone has to adjust to Hydra’s playstyle.”
“You can’t win with Hydra unless you play around him, he’s just a killwhore lel.”
Yet he’s the one who adjusted his playstyle the most on his team, becoming the bomb bitch in search and putting up career-high hill time in Hardpoint.
This isn’t a post shitting on Simp or Shotzzy, because I still think they’ve both had better overall seasons so far. But by year six, you’d think people would’ve realized that Hydra isn’t just some killwhore, he’s one of the greatest playmakers of all time.
The scary thing about Thieves is that I still don’t think Hydra and Scrap are anywhere close to their actual individual ceilings.
The last three events of the season should be incredible if OpTic, Thieves, and FaZe keep this level, KOI figure out their sundays, and we get a GM8 renaissance.
