Hey all! Been working for almost 3 years on an app which just got approved for app store listing! It is an afro inspired app that allows to watch or listen to music together thanks to a synchronization feature. Great if you want to for instance watch YouTube shows with family and friends who are far away, parties or co-studying/working, or listen together to each other's music discoveries without the typical hassle.
Made it as simple as possible: easily create your watch/listen room, no account needed and all free.
It has many use cases:
. Like if you are hosting a party and guest want to suggest songs. Now guests can add songs to the playlist with their own phone without you having to pass your phone around, with having to disconnect from Bluetooth speaker to connect guest's phone.
. For dj to get music suggestions from guests without getting bothered by them. They can just have the QR code of their room printed and showing next to their DJ booth. Event planners (for weddings, or other parties) can also use it as a way to get music preference ideas by future guests before an event.
It's a passion project of mine who kept getting frustrated with moments where you host a party and you would run into bluetooth connection issues when friends want to connect their phone to your sound system to play their music.
The app was just approved to Android app store. iOS app is about 80% but I paused development as I'm not sure if it's really worth the effort yet, but will see if there is enough interest for it.
Feel free to use it however you want.
Seeing any need for this type of app? So far I noted westerners use it more than Africans 👀 despite my afro theme effort use cases I thought would be relevant. Not sure what could be missing
