Don’t wait !!!! Replace your struts
My Rock Warrior has 170,000 on it. Embarrassingly the front struts were the original. I had replaced the rear shocks a few years ago with Bilstein 5100’s. I was a little intimidated to do the front.
That was a mistake. Don’t wait. Just get some jack stands, a decent cordless impact wrench , complete strut assemblies (coil overs) and set aside 4-5 hours
I went with the Bilstein 4600’s (OEM) for a smoother ride. I am sure someone will chime in that they can do it way faster but if you live in the northeast like I do, be ready for some seized up bolts and of course the comfort of the garage floor.
Not sure if this is normal but I have noticed the front seems to be riding a bit higher. Maybe an indication of just how bad the old struts were.
Hope this helps someone
