We began noticing changes around November 2025 and started hearing informal discussions during interviews at various USCIS field offices.
Last month, USCIS issued a memo on this topic. In two interviews shortly after its release, supervisors confirmed that changes were being implemented. We also observed that officers were spending significantly more time typing during interviews beyond what is typical for G-1256 internal notes which suggests that cases may now be undergoing additional internal review.
We have had several marriage based AOS cases where the I-130 was approved on the same day, but the I-485 was not, even in very clean cases.
