Hello all! Hoping someone can point me in the proper direction. I have this hallway that leads to a bedroom. I’m going to remove the carpet in the bedroom and lay down the same hickory hardwood as seen in the hallway.

The issue that I’m having is that I don’t want to use a standard level transition between the 2 spaces because I really don’t like the look of it. What I *want* to do is just lay a 4” wide plank perpendicular to the hallway floor that will line up cleanly with the hallways flooring and the bedroom flooring. Im not sure about how to go about this. I would need to cut the end of the hallway flooring to ensure all planks are flush but I’m obviously not able to do that with a circ saw.

What is the best way to go about what I’m trying to achieve, or is there a better way I’m not even thinking of? Any guidance would be extremely appreciated.
