How messy are basic rice cookers? I haven’t used a basic cooker like the Aroma or entry (non-micom) Zojirushi in a long time. I know they sputter and can bubble over a bit. But for routine usage (and assuming washed white rice or brown rice), is it a few drops around the cooker after use or is it more significant, like cleaning down the sides of the cooker and wiping up little pools of liquid? Considering buying a basic one for someone who could tolerate the former but not the latter.

Thai Tea has a warm, earthy, almost pipe tobacco-like flavor. Does anyone know how it is produced or flavored? Most Thai Tea packages simply list tea and dye as ingredients, with some listing green tea and others specifying black tea or assam. One package noted vanilla flavoring.

This question has been asked before, but the answers are inconsistent. Some have said extensive spices are used, like cardamom, clove, and star anise.

Does anyone know what gives it its distinctive flavor? Are the packages simply not disclosing flavorings or does the taste come from a type or production of tea?

I came across my wife’s old iPod Shuffle the other day. It hasn’t been used since 2012 and the battery no longer works. If i get the battery replaced, is it likely that the Shuffle will retain the songs she’d last loaded to it? She’s more attached to it for the slice of life it contains than the device itself, so I wouldn’t get it fixed if it’s likely to be empty.
