Set on the Ram.

Hello all. I have a favor to ask. I am going to live I a van full-time for retirement. Ive done all the research, focusing on cons and hindsight, and I’m good. I’m not going to do any crazy off road driving. I’m not hiking in the middle of nowhere or climbing any mountains. If I’m visiting parks or sleeping on BLM land I don’t plan on going somewhere too crazy. I have been going all around between the Transit and Ram. I took Sprinter off right away due to servicing location issues. Looking at overall pros and cons, I have decided on the RAM. What did it for me was height and width.

Here is my favor: please try to change my mind. Really change it - realistically for how I will be using it. Please base it on experience, not what you’ve heard. My brain can’t take this anymore.

Thank you so much in advance! I’m really struggling and appreciate any guidance that I can get!!

Base Van

Hi,

I hope everyone is doing well! I am about 4 years out from my conversion to van life and I am busy doing my research. I am looking right now at the best base van. The Sprinter is out because it is just too impractical and repairs are too expensive. My choice is down to a Ford Transit or Ram. I like the Ram slightly more because it is wider and taller. However, I am planning on living in it full-time so I want something dependable. I know nothing is more dependable than the Transit, but may I have your opinions on the Ram? And If I don't want new, what is the best year to get? Thank you so so much!!

Self-Builds

Hi. I am new to the van life world. I’m currently doing a lot of research as I prepare for my retirement in a few years. I have a quick question on people who convert their vans themselves. Do you also do the electricity and plumbing or do you have that done by q and then you do the rest of the build? Thank you
