First Ever Lesson 12 Feb 2026 - Passed Today!

I passed my driving test today on my first attempt with 3 minors. I stalled at a crossroads and thought I might have failed, but I didn't stop or obstruct any traffic and quickly realised the issue so it was only marked as a major, I was so relieved!

Before learning to drive a car at the beginning of this year, I have been riding a 125cc motorbike for the last 8 years on a CBT certificate. This definitely helped with me being confident on the road, so when I was learning how to drive a car, confidence on the road was less of an issue as I knew how to do most junctions and roundabouts.

I had my first lesson on the 12th of February this year after the first instructor I had booked to learn with at the end of January didn't turn up. My instructor was calm with teaching and his car had features like an auto handbrake and hill assist which massively helped during the test. All in all I think I had around 13 lessons in total. They're expensive so I wanted to try and pick it up as quickly as I could. If I was new to the roads I know it would have taken much longer. For the past month or so I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos too, learning from all the mistakes and tips, highly recommended as it really does help save money on lessons too.

I've also had a car sitting outside my house for a month now so it was more motivation to pass as the waiting times are quite long for another test.

I'm just glad it's over and I have some more freedom on the road without having to worry about the rain!
