MCM day one recap

For those who might be anxious, I thought I'd recap how today at MCM went.

We arrived with early access at 10am, by the time we got to the dragonsteel booth they had already capped it off. People started queuing for the queue.

Despite this, everyone at the booth was fantastic and quickly adapted to facilitate this. Everyone was super excited and we had some lovely chats whilst we waited.

It did take almost two hours to get into the booth. Once we were there, it was well stocked (but this might not last all weekend), and although busy there was clearly a lot of thought going towards how many people could be in at once.

I spent an obscene amount, but managed to get some things that have been hard to find in the UK like the whitesand omnibus and the story deck stories. Tons of signed stuff in the booth, lots of great merch too. I'm always impressed with how good quality some of this stuff is.

We weren't able to get a traditional signing, and weren't even aware that isaac was doing a signing too, but we did have a lightning signing. This was better than expected, although you are all stood in a line and he does go up it signing quickly, Brandon was a delight, managed to make everyone in my group feel seen, and was particularly lovely to a fussy toddler.

As it turns out the dragonsteel team recorded the signing and posted it in its entirety so we've been able to clip that in lieu of photos we couldn't take.

Overall, we came to MCM for Brandon, and despite some anxiety about how busy it would be we've all had the best time. Everyone was clearly working their socks off for it.

In price, although the pound price matches the dollar, it charges in dollars and the exchange rate came through very favourably, so I feel much better about the cost of things too. (£12 for a pin rather than £15, $150 for a leatherbound which is £119 rather than £125)

To those headed tomorrow, have a great time! To those who were there today, thanks for a great day.
