I applied for an AMTS QA role at Salesforce through a referral. I have ~1.5 years of experience as an SDET and graduated in 2025 from a Tier 1.5 college.
Timeline:
Jan 31: Applied via referral (connected through LinkedIn)
Feb 8: Received OA (3 DSA questions – easy to medium)
Feb 16: HR called for an offline interview; I said I’d confirm, but didn’t hear back
Mar 2: HR called again; interview scheduled for Mar 5 (online)
Mar 5: First round – 2 medium DSA questions + basic Java; went well → shortlisted
Mar 9: Second round with Hiring Manager – behavioral + scenario-based
After that, I followed up multiple times. HR kept asking me to be patient. My referral mentioned I’d likely get an offer, but there was a hiring freeze and it could take 2–4 weeks.
Recently, HR emailed saying the position is on hold and they’re not hiring for this role right now. When I checked again with my referral, he said the hiring freeze is still active and there’s still a chance the offer might come, but nothing is certain.
Question:
Should I still keep hopes for this role, or move on and focus elsewhere?
