Started my tree surgery business out of a Ford Fiesta and a wooden trailer. I’ve upgraded to a pickup, but I’ve hit a wall and loans aren't an option. Trying to get a proper arb tipper so I can stop working weekends and see my 2 kids. Any advice or shares mean the world.

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out here because I’m at a bit of a crossroads and frankly, this is my last resort.

A few years ago, I started my tree surgery business with next to nothing. My "fleet" was an old Ford Fiesta, a battered wooden trailer, and borrowed tools. I bust my gut, saved everything, and managed to buy a pickup, a better trailer, and my own essential kit. I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

But right now, I’ve hit a glass ceiling. Because of some past unfortunate circumstances, getting a business loan isn't an option for me right now. To actually make this business viable and efficient, I desperately need a proper flatbed arb tipper. Nothing fancy, just a workhorse that gets the job done.

Right now, without it, I'm constantly borrowing gear and having to work almost every single weekend just to keep things moving. I’m doing all of this to give my partner and our two young kids the kind of stable life neither of us had growing up—but working 7 days a week means I'm missing them grow up, too.

I have a GoFundMe set up to help buy the tipper, please DM me if you’d like the link.

Even if you can’t donate, any advice from older lads in the trade who have been through the grind, or just a share of the link, would mean the absolute world to a tired dad. Thank you for reading.
