Decking Project (Ground Screws + Aluminium Joists)

This one might cause a bit of a debate. This is a Project we are working on at the moment.

Aluminium Joists mounted onto Ground Screws. We will be tiling over the top of the aluminium joists with our noise reducing Tiling system. Railings/Balustrades will be attached to the outside of the Aluminium joists. Check it out. (its halfway done Tiles and the rest to be laid in the coming week)

Our own experience is you cant lay tiles on top of timber joists because they all thermally expand and contract at various rates so your tile surface ends up all over the show. from what we have done over the past 5 years with Aluminium joists and tiling is that it all "breathes the same" so it comes back to the way it was and you don't have tiles lifting or gaps opening up.

(Always check the ground before you use Ground screws as it may not be suitable.) will aim to have a video and more photos once it is done.
