First EV for our family
After a few years of quietly stalking blogs and subreddits for all types of EV’s, we took the plunge and grabbed out first electric car. Found our 2023 Pro S RWD 350 miles south of us, certified (of course), under 18k miles, in pristine condition. We chose between this one in Aurora Red/Galaxy vs a Pure Gray/Cosmic (unreal interior color btw). Gray had some bumps and bruises, rim rash, interior blemishes, etc. What ultimately sold us was that the dealer we got it from said that whatever the other dealer offered, they would beat by $1k. True to their word, they indeed sold it us for exactly $1k under the other dealership and had it ready for us to pick up when we arrived. I was able to squeeze 250 miles of the 350 return trip from the initial 95% charge (it was at 20% when I stopped to recharge).
It’s an exceptional car. Drives a lot smaller than it is, infotainment is plenty fast enough, seats are nice and comfy for faux leather, A/C is icebox cold almost instantly, massaging seats are a nice touch.
We briefly considered a 24/25 for the extended range and +33% in hp, and ventilated seats, but the cheapest I could find was +$8k for a 24 and +$11k for a 25.
I had to wait an extra day for our Grizzl-E charger to arrive, but I had already prepped the install area and had it up and running within 15 minutes of it being dropped off at the house. After reading about inconsistent scheduling through the vehicle settings, I opted for the app version of charger.
