National Teams are 26 members in total with women allowed to play - because of this Season 3 would be massively expanded with more matches, more character arcs, new teams such as The Norwegian team 'Roaring Axes' and the Egyptian Team 'Golden Pharoah'. Each team has 3 goalkeepers.

Now you will probably see that there are more than 26 players in these 2 images and that is because like the original there will be cases of players being injured and taken off - these two images show the 29 players who at some point play for Inazuma National.

Samford is now a defender like he was on Inazuma Legend Japan in the 2nd GO movie due to the recoil from Emperor Penguin No.1 reducing his kick power, to compensate for this he has created 'Penguin Assault' a no recoil defensive version of Emperor Penguin No.1, King also gets High Beast Fang from Ares.

Icer, Heat, Shadow and Neil Turner all get a lot more story relevance in my version - Shadow joins Raimon after Royal Redux in season 2, Icer is on Chaos now, gets dialogue, is shown to be close with Gazelle and has a unique dribbling move 'Frozen Step', I talk in detail about Heat and Neil Turner's rise in relevance in my Neo Japan post so go read that - but it does spoil some elements.

Shawn will still be injured in the Fire Dragon Match and replaced by Kevin - they get a cute role reversal of their moment on the hospital roof in Season 2.

Jordan does not leave after Fire Dragon and stays till the very end.

Shawn will replace Tod after the Argentina match just like in the original (Tod is only here to get kicked off for Shawn and to start Jack's mini character arc)

Now I have spoiled certain people being on the team *cough* *cough* Aphrody and Quagmire. if you would like to know how they end up on the team here is the explanations but it is plot spoilers. Also Quagmire is a defender like he was in some Orion matches and so he can say that he has played every position - he would also get defensive and dribbling drill based moves.

Aphrody:>! In this timeline Fire Dragon despite losing agaisnt Japan still qualify for the international stages cause it was dumb they only had 1 Asian country and 5 European ones, they are placed in group D and win their first match against the Nigerian team at the same time Japan wins against England, however during the Team D arc all of Fire Dragon get caught in a bus accident just like the original Inazuma Eleven 40 years ago, luckily Aphordy hadnt gotten on the bus instead met up with Damian, Jude and Samford after they started seeing what looked like Ray Dark on Liocott. Aphrody would play against Team D and help Italy as revenge for his team. As he prepares to head home after Korea are unable to continue he gets a call from an FFI rep who says that because of the horrible circumstances and his dual nationality of both Korean and Japanese the committee, the recent diplomatic friendship between the South Korean president and Prime Minister Vanguard and the fans he has accumulated still want to see him play so he agrees and joins Inazuma Japan replacing Thor who like Tod was injured in the Argentina match.!<

Quagmire: >!The regional qualifiers are a lot more split up with the qualifiers Japan is in being Eastern Asia + Oceania, therefore Qatar's team Desert Lions are in their own qualifiers and they make it to the groups stages albeit in the same group as Japan of Group A, Japan would play them as one of the last matches in tne grpup and the match would be similar to the original with the heat aspect, Neil Turner would end up pushing himself too hard and would get injured and replaced by Quagmire after the game. Neil will stick around however and help Coach Travis with tactics and that experience will later serve him well when he becomes Northbright's coach in Victory Road.!<

Lastly the 6 candidates who do not make the team ever:

Spoiler Free Intro if you would want to read the rewrite: Damian is a 2nd year student at Raimon Jr High who started at the school as the series begins. He joins the football club on his first day and quickly befriends Mark and Silvia. He tells the club that he is an orphan who doesn't know who his family is hence the lack of a last name. He lives at the Inazuma Town orphanage and helps the elderly owner take care of the younger kids. He is an Earth element striker who has some impressive skills despite admitting he hasn't played football in over a year. He has a lot of Death, Souls and Underworld inspired moves - his shooting move 'Post-Mortem' would be somewhat similar in concept to 'Supernatural Strike' hence its use here. Damian would help Raimon win the Football Frontier, defeat Alius Academy and become a member of Inazuma National winning the FFI.

Spoiler filled Intro : >!Damian lied about not knowing who is family is. His last name is Dark, he is the son of Ray Dark. (Also making him Lucian Dark's Older Cousin). His natural hair colour is the same as Ray Dark's he just dyed it to honour his mother Ivy Dark. Ivy died shortly after giving birth to him thus starting an intense hatred of Damian by his father. Damian was the first member of Project Zeus and went by the codename Hades, he was placed in a facility when he was only 4 and was shortly followed by the other Zeus players who are all orphans. He developed a particularly close bond with Byron Love or Aphrody as he was known. Project Zeus was made with the sole goal of creating Ambrosia a super sterioid that if given to his players would guarantee Ray Dark's team would win. The kids in project Zeus would grow up without love only strict and harsh football training and trial runs for Ambrosia. Despite the horrible life he had grown into he couldn't help but love football and playing alongside his teammates which he had been made captain of and dubbed their ace striker. However football couldn't save him from his father's persistent hatred and cruelty, Dark had it specifically out for Damian blaming him for his wife's death and made sure Damian knew it. So one night he escaped. The Zeus players had talked about escaping together but Damian would leave them behind an action that would forever haunt him. His escape was a year prior to the start of the series explaining his sudden appearance and why he hasn't played football in over a year but also his immense talent as his whole life was football. In the end after Zeus lose the Football Frontier Finals they are freed following Ray Dark's arrest and the police raiding the Zeus facility. Despite leaving them he never stopped thinking about his former teammates, his real family and trained hard to hopefully set them free which in the end he does.!<

My new Neo Japan team for my rewrite of the original 3 seasons, the national teams are comprised of 26 players in total and women are able to compete cause it was dumb they didn't do this to begin with.

• Sue Sparrow - Royal Redux
• Zack Cummings (Zohen) - Genesis and original Neo Japan player

Now to clear up some immediate questions you might have: namely what happened to Joseph King, Neil Turner, Hera and Heat - well they got promoted majorly with all 4 being Inazuma National candidates and all but Hera making the team.

King making Inazuma National makes sense given he is quite notable. As for why Turner, Hera and Heat got the relevance promotion of a lifetime the explanations are here:

Neil Turner: >!Appears alongside Feldt during Shadow's introduction in the episode when Kevin gets taken off the team, He has created his own Tornado move 'Crimson Tornado' and is helping Shadow with Dark Tornado - after Shadow joins Raimon, Neil would eventually take Shadow's spot in the Dark Emperors, later being a candidate and making Inazuma Japan!<

Hera: >!Zeus players in general get much more relevance in my rewrite due to my OC being linked to them, Hera and Dionysus end up being part of Royal Redux and get dangerous recoil dribbling and defensive moves respectively - Hera is a Inazuma Japan candidate but doesn't make the team.!<

Heat: >!He is a strange character who ends up spying on Raimon for Torch and is shown to be a almost second in command for Prominence, He is even initially opposed to the idea of creating chaos after Raimon beats Prominence and ties with Diamond Dust. He also tries to stop Bomber and Gocker from hurting Aphrody but he isn't successful and Aphrody will still leave due to injury. Even after being banished from Alius he helps Raimon get through Fuji Forest and beat the Forest team who Heat seems to be able to communicate with. Later he is a candidate and making Inazuma Japan.!<

Rather than just have them copy each others moves they've focused instead on combining moves with the help of Cadence Soundtown helping them match their timings. For example Mercury and Demeter have worked together to make 'Gaia Buster' a fusion of well Gaia Break which Mercury was part of and Demeter's Reflect Buster.

Bomber and Gocker have refined their Ignite and Frozen steal respectively and combined them to make 'Chaotic Steal' which no doubt would give Raimon and especially Aphrody major PTSD.

Also I know after Orion people might be sad since Quagmire doesn't even get considered for the team here but dont worry >!Neil Turner eventually gets injured and is replaced by Quagmire - ironic since in another timeline they were teammates trying to take Inazuma National's spots.!<
