New CDL driver recently released from prison
Without going to much into detail, I've been out of prison since January. My charges are uh... Not ideal for any company to hire me but I was told I woud have a good shot at being able to have a career as a truck driver so I got out and got my CDL. I've had my class A for about a week and every company I've applied for so far has turned me down due to me only being out of prison for a couple months. I keep seeing Western express pop up and I'm really trying to avoid that if at all possible but am not opposed to it because I need the experience so I can at least market myself.
So my most recent charges were attempted second degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. I also have some robberies and assaults on my record from 10+ years ago. Should I just bite the bullet and apply for Western express to get my experience? I've applied for Melton, swift,Schneider and a couple others but it seems like it's gonna be the same thing everywhere I apply. I have 0 otr experience and a recent record, Im in Florida right now but will relocate anywhere to get a job so that's not an issue. I don't care about hours or location I really just wanna get some experience under my belt so Im at least somewhat marketable. Am I cooked?
