Whats your favorite album of theirs and why? After having gone through their entire discography, The Glowing Man reigns supreme for me. It contains (in my opinion) some of the best writing from Micheal since the reunion era (along with other albums like The Beggar), it also excels in their big sound style with a full transcendental and hypnotic tone to it.
Swans are amazing at letting their music take you to a completely different world (or just out of your body) and I think The Glowing Man does it perfectly. I can't stress enough how much I love this album.
Some other contenders for my favorite are Soundtracks for the Blind, Swans Are Dead, and Birthing.
What're your guys' favorite live album from Swans so far? For those who also saw them perform during their most recent tour, how do you think it will stand with their previous live work?
Personally, Swans Are Dead is my favorite live album, but after having seen them live last year, Newly Sentient Being may become my favorite.
Who needs to eat when you can get the limited box set 🙃
I know technically Blind was a Gira solo song but I'm counting it anyway since it was released on White Light
Picked up some Swans records and some other favorite post rock albums of mine. I got Soundtracks signed!
With Swans announcing the upcoming live album "Newly Sentient Being" being available for pre-order, do they typically sell out pretty fast? I really want to order the 4LP edition (especially since I saw the concert live) but I don't have the most steady income right now. Am I good to wait a bit, or do Swans pre-orders sell out quick?
Me and my girlfriend got 6 each, got a nice little stash now
