Hist=Anu?
Ill start off by saying I am not an expert and do not have the sources to any of these schizophrenic rants, so please TESlore nerds break everything in this post down.
I always found it interesting that argonians only revere 2 things, sithis, the soul of Padomay, and the hist, some random alien bullshit no one seems to know anything about. Especially, because every tamrielic religion hinges on the dichotomy between Padomaic and Anuic entities.
So what if the hist is not so alien, as the games suggest. I saw 2 conflicting theories about the hist in my time, they are either absolutely alien to Aurbis, or they were on one of the original 12 worlds created by Nir and Anu. This theory suggests that neither are true, but the former is most correct, the Hist is some aspect of Anu placed on Nirn when Padomay destroyed the worlds.
Argonians weirdly don't have any reverence for the divines, despite their existence being a fact (somewhat), perhaps the reason they don't revere the divines is that they are merely aspects of the hist in their theology, like the daedra are aspects of sithis and padomay.
Swamps represent stagnation, often hostile to outside forces coming in and altering the land. The hist is very similar to the Hyperion tree in our own world, I like to think, noted having roots that reach deep into the ground and all grow together as one. These aspects of the hist and the environment are very in line with how Anu is represented, as stasis.
"But random person on the internet what about their reverence for sithis, the soul of padomay, 'change incarnate' " I hear you say, well good question other random person on the internet, well I believe there are some interesting parallels to be drawn here to the creation myth of men in the abrahamic religions of our own world, people given sentience to be alive. Not to say that this sithis worship is inherently evil or sinful, but that sithis being a figurehead is more representative of having been given choice, given sentience. In that way argonians are anuic creatures blessed by sithis with sentience and the temptation of the daedra.
All in all, this is just my head cannon to make myself comfortable playing a dragonborn argonian, I just want to know if every single word in this post is wrong, or if this might hold some weight.
