Stock advice
I have been investing for 9 years. and want to share a couple tips that will hopefully help new investors.
first, avoid options. most of my loss, about 10k was on options. while options can be good, keep in mind most options loose the buyers money. they are a good way to maximize profits, but it's also a great way to maximize losses.
part of the reason options don't work for me is my investment strategy. it's the same thing Warren Buffet does called bargain investing. I unintentionally hunt bankruptcy threatening companies. I see a stock that has dropped a lot. Gotu is a good example. it fell from 118$ to 13$. I bought 100 at 17$ then it fell to 15 and 13$ and so I bought more. then it fell to 4$ I bought 200. between 2-3$ I bought several thousand. i lost a little faith and sold alot. but by the time it had dropped to 1.50$ I bought 5k. I then waited and sold at 5$ or 6$. I did similar th8ngs with dnr and ngl.
I am stubborn and don't like taking a loss. but we are also in the golden age of free stock information. but articles written about it and most of the good info I got off yahoo finance comments. take any article you read or comment or reddit with a grain of salt. sometimes people have an agenda or are making things up. but you learn to discern pretty quick and I like reading alot of different opinions to find the most reasonable.
beware of scams people putting fake pic up and then inviting you to a private group or paying for advice. I see alot of them on here, unfortunately.
I could go into a lot more detail, but I am trying to keep it brief. feel free to ask questions
