Rucking Weight Vest, Training Weight Vest 2.0 side-by-side comparison

I recently purchased the Rucking Weight Vest and made this detailed comparison of it to the Training Weight Vest 2.0 since it seems no one else has done this. Both are size L/XL.

MATERIAL
Training Weight Vest 2.0: 1000D exterior, 210D interior
Rucking Weight Vest: 500D exterior, 210D interior

The one I purchased is the GoruckxHuckberry waxed canvas version but this is not the standard material.

DIMENSIONS
Training Weight Vest: 13 1/8”H x 10 7/8”W
Straps: 11 1/2”L
Rucking Weight Vest: 13 1/4”H x 11 1/4”W
Straps: 9 1/2”L
Cummerbund is 19 1/4”L and 4”W on both.

PADDING
Padding seems to be the same thickness on both. The carry handle size and material also seem to be the same on both.

RUCK PLATE COMPATIBILITY
Both easily hold a standard 30 lbs Goruck brand ruck plate, and a 20 lbs Yes For All brand ruck plate.

I haven’t received my curved Goruck ruck plates in the mail yet to confirm compatibility on the TWV 2.0 but will update when I receive them.

It’s worth noting that the described weight capacity for the TWV 2.0 is 30 lbs per pocket (60 lbs total), while the RWV is described as up to 30 lbs total, even though two 30 lbs plates totaling 60 lbs will comfortably fit the pockets. It seems the RWV is not designed to bear that much weight.

OTHER DIFFERENCES
Shape: the RWV has a cut-in pyramid shape on the upper chest while the TWV 2.0 has a square upper chest.

Pocket: the RWV features a front chest pocket with a magnetic closure. The TWV 2.0 does not have a pocket.

Size: The RWV has a slightly larger profile overall, but the cut-in design makes it appear less bulky than the TWV 2.0.

Shoulder straps: The webbing on the RWV is wider and longer than traditional Goruck webbing. The webbing on the TWV 2.0 is identical to the strap webbing on the Rucker, GR1, etc.
The RWV straps are not adjustable. The TWV 2.0 strap lengths can be adjusted slightly.

Carry handle position: The handle is positioned 1” higher on the RWV.

Cummerbund: The cummerbund on the RWV has pull tabs; the cummerbund on the TWV 2.0 does not.

Interior: the RWV has a die-cut padded interior that is hollow where the curved ruck plates are hollow. The TWV 2.0 has a solid flat padded interior.

Has anyone used both that can compare the pros and cons of each? I currently have the Training Weight Vest 2.0 and am wondering if selling it for a Rucking Weight Vest would be worth the time or if I should keep the 2.0 and just buy the curved plates. I don’t even know if the curved plates are compatible on the 2.0. Haven’t found any information comparing the two.
