Hi!

I really want to start making some wood carvings (I want to make some necklaces or something like that for the members of cast of a play I'm in) and just have no clue where to start.

What are the general items required, any specific knives/brands to start off with? Is it better to get a specific kind of wood or is what I can find around a good place to start?
