How do people archive important Gmail conversations?

I sometimes need to keep records of long Gmail conversations (receipts, invoices, travel confirmations, support emails, etc.).

The built-in print option works, but long threads can get messy.

Curious what people here actually do:

• Save PDFs?
• Take screenshots?
• Use labels?
• Forward emails elsewhere?
• Use backup/export tools?

Interested in hearing real workflows.
